The stones from the western boundary demolition have been put to good use around the house by Huntly Barton's wallers. There are several photos from Moora on this page http://www.wtjones.com.au/drystone. There is nothing original in describing Huntly as, at the very least, a regional treasure.
We have used traditional walling to create an inner garden around the house, to create level changes and flat areas for farm purposes. Sometimes it seems 'expensive' - but not when we look at the overall effect.
The other guy who has been crucial to the stone walling is our architect Robin Larsen. Robin visited Moora before we had even decided to buy it - and he's been part of all aesthetic decisions since then. There are some Moora photos on his website. http://www.treearchitecture.com,au/basalt_farm_gallery
I put in a few good days making those walls too Dad. I am proud of that.
